Job Postings

Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral fellows in the Lane-Donovan Lab have the opportunity to lead projects at the intersection of neurodegeneration, cell biology, and translation to patient-relevant measures. We are looking for applicants with neuroscience or cell biology background and expertise in either iPSC-derived models or mouse models.

Potential project areas include:

  • Cell-type– and region-specific endolysosomal function in aging and disease

  • Mechanistic dissection of pathways linked to neurodegeneration and selective vulnerability

  • Using iPSC-derived neurons and microglia to identify molecular mechanisms that lead to clinically used serum biomarkers

How to apply:
Please email courtney.lane-donovan (at) ucsf.edu with:

  • a CV

  • a brief statement of research interests (1 paragraph is fine)

  • contact information for 2–3 references

  • availability and preferred start timeframe

Specialists (Junior or Assistant)

Specialists will lead and execute experiments, develop and refine assays, manage mouse colonies and samples, and help coordinate work across projects. We are looking for candidates who take pride in doing careful, high-quality science and who enjoy being part of a collaborative team.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Take satisfaction in building experiments that are careful, rigorous, and reproducible

  • Enjoy working closely with others and contributing to shared goals

  • Are organized and attentive to detail, with strong documentation practices

  • Want to contribute to a positive, supportive lab environment—and, if interested, help train and mentor others

We are committed to creating an environment where scientists are respected, supported, and able to grow professionally. Applicants with an interest in applying to graduate school or medical school are particularly welcome to apply.

How to apply:

Candidates should apply via the open posting on the UCSF recruiting site
